Alive museum Singapore,

Armed with tickets for the Alive museum, R and I set out to explore some trick eye craze which has been one of the hot topics of the town recently. Suitable for all, the Alive museum infuses and modernizes the concept of Art into fun and entertainment. It was originally known as the Trick Art museum, a trend which caught on with popularity since the Baroque era in the 16th century.

The Suntec City branch is the 15th branch to have opened worldwide, with the largest trademark branch being the one in Seong-eup, Jeju island. Housing more than 80 artworks which are brought alive with 3D painting, shading and drawing techniques that create visual illusions, it is over 10,000 square feet even though it adopts a maze style of concept.

We popped by on Wednesday after work to check out the hype, and because it was nearing National day, there were many locally themed paintings that were on display as well. Admittedly, there were certain segments that were rather disappointing, after we got over the novel sensory experience. However, there were certain exhibits like the Van Gogh inspired portrait, the mesmerizing bottom(less) glass floors and the acrobat bluffs that we really had a good laugh over :) Another thing that really struck me was that every single artwork was hand painted by quality artists, supported by a R&D team back in Korea. Needless to say, I appreciated the mural artworks scattered around, most of which were painted to stimulate the mind in seeing both illusion and reality. Here's a visual walkthrough of the museum:

Some optical illusions were scattered at the entrance....which got us pretty excited (Psychology majors here) but the hype died down quite fast. It was nonetheless interesting.

All hail the queen, spot Tiger Woods, Bruce Lee, Steve Jobs, David Beckham and Obama in my comrade.

Getting peed on by Cathy's lookalike

Let's all wash our heads under the Merlion spout

RIP Nelson Mandela.

Just crashing into the great Brick Wall of China

Hidden doors to fool visitors

Stepping through the psychedelic mirror room

Moonwalking with Michael Jackson was the most painful experience ever because we didn't know how to work the illusion.....had a good laugh nonetheless :P

Who is that who lurks in the dark bearing those claws.

Just chilling on someone's hand.

Secret revealed: Panda Gongfu poops chocolate ice cream, yum.

Loved these mesmerizing bottom(less) floors, was quite enthralled.

Closest experience to being eaten alive

Being the cultured lady I am

Just another day on the circus set

Blowing up Marilyn Monroe's skirt......

Our favourite exhibit, being chased by zombies!

Breakdancing exhibit which was pretty cool but we were too lazy to remove our shoes. We had to jump on the trampoline in the middle, with our hands and palms up. Flip the picture and you look like you're break dancing it hard.

Ninja skills

Looking cheesy on a paper boat hahaha I thought this was quite nice but the lighting wasn't

Another one of my favourite exhibits, check out the acrobat who has 3 legs!

Camera obscura, went into a darkroom to sketch the modele out within a few seconds, could have done this all night.

Hi Russell, meet Russell.

ET's disproportionately big eyes.

After he showed off his low rope skills

Some exhibits were rather interesting and the novelty worth checking out! I think it would especially be good for family and friends, as it is an interactive experience.
